Sweet Oneida Studio Suite is now taking bookings for the 2019 season, which will run from the Victoria Day long week-end (Friday, May 17) through Canadian Thanksgiving long week-end (Monday, October 14).

Here are some exciting community events for 2019:

May 26, 2 p.m. - Classical Music Concert at the Island Church, St. Andrews-by-the-Lake - A 'Guided Tour' of Mozart and Beethoven piano sonatas.  Free concert with a byob reception afterwards, and 'pass the hat' donations to the Hilary Kilbourn Fund (used to date to purchase the new church piano and other community projects).  Contact me for additional information and how to RSVP.

May 31 - Island Cafe (on Ward's) Celebrates 10-year anniversary - event will feature memories, merriment, special treats, and live music to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Freeman-McIntyre family stepping back into their role of running the Island Cafe.  If you haven't been before, you'll be wowed by their menus which include their own home-grown veggies and herbs;

June 22 - 'Talent Night' - enjoy a full evening of fun and laughter at the WIA with skits, comedy, and music by many of our local artists;

August 2-5 - 'Gala Week End'.  The community celebrates islanders past and present with Friday night Fire Parade, followed by week-end beer garden, kids and adult games, white (or green!) elephant sale, live music, good food, and many other events including raffles and GREAT prizes.  All in support of our community Ward's Island Association

2019 accommodation is offered in the 2nd Floor Studio Suite.  It's best suited to those with no other agenda than a desire to:

  • Reconnect with nature;

  • Relax in a natural, tranquil, and healthy environment;

  • Escape the city's hustle, bustle, and stress;

You're invited to come and “power down” for a while in this smoke-free/perfume-free/strong scents-free home and garden.  The Studio is fully self-catering, welcomes children but not pets, and provides the following amenities:

  • Specially negotiated rate city-side parking;

  • Short walk from the Ward's Island ferry dock;
  • Private, keyed entrance at front of house (right side door in photo) with lock-box;
  • Large living/sleeping/eating area equipped with dining table and chairs, china cabinet, sofa, and comfortable reading chair, deluxe queen bed for 2 guests, and, when required for 1 additional adult or 2 children, a full (double size) 13ins high inflatable bed;
  • Sleeps up to 3 adults, or 2 adults and 2 children;
  • French door walk out to balcony overlooking the rear herb garden.  Balcony has two adirondack chairs, cushions, and a small table;
  • 3-pc bathroom with soaker tub and hand shower in tub;
  • All bedding, linens, bathroom towels, and soaps (please bring beach towels);
  • Fully equipped kitchen/dining so guests can prepare and enjoy their own meals here - kitchen includes full sized fridge, gas stove with 4 top burners and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker with filters, kettle, pots and pans, cooking utensils, china, glassware, and cutlery;
  • Complimentary coffees, teas, milk, and sugar;
  • Ceiling fan and tower oscillating fan for summer comfort;
  • Gas fireplace for those chilly spring and fall evenings, thermostat controlled;

Kindly note that the accommodation is for the use of registered guests only.  Please discuss your needs with me before inviting others. I reserve the right to limit usage.

2019 Studio Pricing:

Weekday rates (Sundays through Thursdays, except when the Sunday is part of a long week-end)

$155 per night, 1 or 2 adults (queen bed), plus $45 per night for a 3rd adult or 2nd adult not sharing queen bed

$10 additional per night, per child

10% discount for 3 or more consecutive nights' stay not including week-ends (see below)

Week-end rates (Fridays and Saturdays, and Sundays of long week-ends) - minimum stay 2 nights, and 3 nights on a long week-end

$175 per night, 1 or 2 adults (queen bed) plus $60 per night for a 3rd adult or 2nd adult not sharing queen bed;

$15 additional per night, per child

Booking & Cancellation Policy:

  • 50% deposit required with your reservation;

  • Cancellations accepted and refunded at 75% of deposit paid with notice of a minimum of one week in advance of reservation for May, June, September, and October bookings, except long week-ends (see below);

  • Cancellations accepted and refunded at 75% of deposit paid with notice of a minimum of two weeks in advance of reservation for July and August bookings, and for all long week-ends throughout the season;

  • No refunds for cancellations except as detailed above;

  • 25% administration fee retained from all accepted cancellations;

  • Balance of stay fee payable on arrival.
