Ten minutes by ferry from downtown on Toronto Island, walking distance to the Metro Convention Centre, the theatre and financial districts, dozens of restaurants and St. Lawrence Market, Swan's End Guest House offers two luxuriously appointed rooms, both with queen-sized beds and private en suite bathrooms. Delicious gourmet breakfasts, afternoon tea tray, fresh flowers. The B&B, newly built and designed in Island Cottage style to blend into its surroundings, takes full advantage of light and space.
Swan's End sits on a narrow waterway that separates Algonquin Island from Ward's Island. In summer the lagoon is home to a variety of wildlife - ducks, swans, cormorants, beavers and fish. Kayaks, canoes and small boats ply back and forth. Rent a boat and join in or enjoy the scene from the verandah. In winter this same lagoon is often crisscrossed by the tracks of cross country skiers or swept clear by the wind for a perfect skating rink. |
Toronto Island provides a beautiful setting for bicycling and rollerblading, kayaking, swimming at the beach, walking along the boardwalk or exploring the unique neighbourhoods on Wards and Algonquin Islands.Toronto Island is a car free community. There are no stores. A number of restaurants and cafes are open seven days a week. Check The Rectory Café's web site for winter hours.
