The W.I.A. Clubhouse was built by WIA members from 1937 to 1938 and is conveniently located 300 feet south of the Ward's Island Ferry dock at the eastern point of Toronto Islands - just a 15 minute Ferry ride from the Toronto waterfront. The Clubhouse and adjacent fenced in yard (excluding the bowling green) may be rented from the Association for different social events such as weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, reunions, dances, company meetings/seminars/picnics from May to October.
The Clubhouse is approximately 1,900 square feet (30' x 62') featuring maple hardwood floors (refinished in 2007), cathedral ceiling, french windows, an elevated 250 square foot stage (10' x 25'), period lighting, central heating, and circulating fans (no A/C). A covered porch running the length of the building adjacent to the fenced yard (which is approximately 20' x 50') is cooled by the Lake Ontario breezes. Separate mens and womens washroom facilities are located adjacent to the building. Two refrigerators, two charcoal barbeques, one portable bar, coolers, (charcoal and ice are not provided) chairs and tables are available however there are no kitchen facilities.
The Clubhouse is available for weddings and corporate events or picnics. This includes daily use of the Clubhouse facilities from 9:00am to 1:00am. The Clubhouse is not licensed, therefore a Special Occasional Permit is required from the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. The 2008 rental rate will be established in the new year.
